2. Backup Your Configuration

Go to: System → Backup / Flash Firmware → Backup
Click Generate Archive to download a .tar.gz or .bin file.
Store this file in a secure location (password manager, encrypted drive).

2. Interrupt the boot process

During boot, when you see:

Immediately press Ctrl+Break (or Ctrl+C in some terminals) to enter ROMmon (ROMMON) mode.
You should see a rommon 1 > prompt.

4. Reset the router

rommon 2 > reset

Press and Hold: Use the screwdriver/paperclip to press and hold the Reset button.

Power Up: While continuing to hold the Reset button, turn the power switch ON (or plug the power back in).

Hold for 10-15 Seconds: Keep holding the button. You will hear a single beep shortly after startup. Continue holding until you hear two beeps or the device reboots automatically.

Release: Release the button. The XVR will restart.

Login:

This overrides the normal init process and drops you directly into a root shell from the initramfs (initial RAM filesystem). 7004t-lm-v3 password reset

Recap:

Release the Reset button only after the SYS LED blinks five times in quick succession.

The device will now boot into a clean factory state. Wait 2–3 minutes for the boot process to complete.
