- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/4 cup honey or pure maple syrup (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Roll and cut: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment. Divide dough in half. On a lightly floured surface, roll one portion to about 1/8-inch thickness for crisp crackers (slightly thicker for a softer bite).
