The A1278 (Mid-2012) uses a unique audio codec: the Cirrus Logic CS4206B (or CS4207). This is not a standard Realtek or Intel HD Audio chipset. When Windows 10 automatically updates, it tries to install a generic Microsoft or Intel driver. This generic driver will not work correctly because it lacks the custom GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) pin configurations and EAPD (External Amplifier Power Down) sequences required to physically turn on the A1278's internal amplifier. - Extract the Boot Camp
