Avatar is set on the planet Pandora, a stunningly beautiful world inhabited by the Na'vi, a tribe of tall, blue-skinned humanoids. The story takes place in a not-too-distant future, where humans have depleted Earth's natural resources and are seeking to mine the valuable mineral unobtanium on Pandora. The film follows Jake Sully, a paraplegic marine who becomes an avatar driver, a human controlling a genetically engineered Na'vi body. As Jake becomes immersed in the Na'vi culture, he finds himself torn between his loyalty to the human corporation and his growing connection to the Na'vi and their world.
