Unlocking the Power of Bionumerics: Understanding the License String
License strings are not publicly available and must be requested through official channels: bionumerics license string
- Product identifier (e.g., BIONUMERIC S or module codes)
- License type (node-locked, floating, trial, academic, enterprise)
- Expiry date or “perpetual” flag
- Host identifier or MAC/IP fingerprint for node-locked licenses
- Module feature flags (e.g., MLST, PFGE, WGS)
- Digital signature or checksum to prevent tampering
How it’s used
- Customer purchases a license from Applied Maths (vendor).
- Vendor issues a license string tied to customer and license type.
- User enters the string into Bionumerics’ License Manager or places a license file in the application’s license folder.
- Software verifies string locally (and sometimes with a license server) and unlocks features.
