Unlocking the Power of Bionumerics: Understanding the License String

License strings are not publicly available and must be requested through official channels: bionumerics license string

• Product identifier (e.g., BIONUMERIC S or module codes)
• License type (node-locked, floating, trial, academic, enterprise)
• Expiry date or “perpetual” flag
• Host identifier or MAC/IP fingerprint for node-locked licenses
• Module feature flags (e.g., MLST, PFGE, WGS)
• Digital signature or checksum to prevent tampering

How it’s used

1. Customer purchases a license from Applied Maths (vendor).
2. Vendor issues a license string tied to customer and license type.
3. User enters the string into Bionumerics’ License Manager or places a license file in the application’s license folder.
4. Software verifies string locally (and sometimes with a license server) and unlocks features.
