7. Important Notes & Limitations

• Superseded versions: .NET Framework 4.5 is no longer the latest version. Microsoft recommends using .NET Framework 4.8 (offline installer ndp48-x86-x64-allos-enu.exe) for new deployments due to security updates and extended support.
• Support lifecycle: .NET Framework 4.5 reached end of support on January 12, 2016. It is not recommended for production systems without proper isolation or legacy compatibility requirements.
• In-place upgrades: Installing .NET 4.5 on a system with 4.5.1 or higher will not downgrade; newer versions are backward compatible.
• Windows 10/11: These OS versions include newer .NET Framework versions natively. The 4.5 offline installer may fail or be unnecessary.
