Once your inventory is full (or your bucket is overflowing), you cannot fish further. The Auto Sell feature detects the Inventory Full pop-up, navigates to the nearest sell point (or uses a teleport function if allowed), and dumps your catch for in-game currency. It then returns to the fishing spot to continue.
