Chapter 1: What’s in the Box? (Unboxing the Kt 70 System)
Before reading the installation manual, verify your package contents. A standard Kt 70 retail kit includes:
- Have basic electrical knowledge (multimeter use, wire gauges, grounding concepts).
- Download the PDF version so you can zoom into the diagrams.
- Keep connectors dry – Use a silicone cap when washing the bike.
- Update firmware – KT releases updates via a USB-to-Julet cable (sold separately). Use the KT-LCD Tool software on Windows.
- Battery drain – The Kt 70 draws ~50mA when on, ~1mA when off. Disconnect if storing bike for months.
Warning: Do not exceed 2A on relay output. For larger heaters, use an external magnetic contactor.
