- The Misaligned Spine: Authentic V004 has a deliberate 2mm misprint where the title text overlaps the barcode.
- The Dasha “Scar”: On the back cover, bottom right, there is a tiny embossed scar shape (like a scratch) that is tactile. Fakes are flat.
- Page Weight: V004 uses 170gsm uncoated paper (smells faintly of cinnamon due to a factory error). Standard issues use 120gsm.
- The Ghost Number: On the inside of the rear cover, in invisible UV ink, a three-digit number (ranging from 001 to 025) appears under blacklight.
- Provenance: Most authentic copies trace back to a single 2022 pop-up event in Berlin called “Glitch & Tell.” If a seller cannot provide a photo from that event, be wary.
