Sp Flash Tool Status Ext Ram Exception May 2026

The STATUS_EXT_RAM_EXCEPTION (0xC0050005) error in SP Flash Tool typically indicates that the Download Agent (DA) is unable to initialize the device's external RAM (DRAM). This most commonly happens because the firmware or DA files you are using do not match the specific hardware or RAM vendor of your phone. Common Causes

is a failed "digital handshake". When you begin a flash, the SP Flash Tool sends a Download Agent to the device's internal SRAM. This DA's primary job is to initialize the larger External RAM so that the full firmware can be loaded. If the DA does not contain the correct EMI (External Memory Interface) sp flash tool status ext ram exception

In some older versions, it may appear as S_EXT_RAM_EXCEPTION (Wait status). The error signifies that the tool successfully communicated with the device’s Boot ROM (BROM) and sent the Download Agent (DA), but the DA failed to initialize the external RAM (Random Access Memory). Reheat the RAM IC: Using a hot air

This error occurs when the Download Agent (DA) fails to initialize the device's DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory). Essentially, the software is unable to communicate correctly with the phone's physical RAM, preventing it from proceeding with the flashing process. Primary Causes Introduction If using an Auth Bypass tool, ensure

  • Reheat the RAM IC: Using a hot air station (300°C, low airflow), gently reflow the solder balls under the RAM chip (if you have microsoldering skills).
  • Check for shorts: Inspect capacitors around the RAM and CPU for shorts to ground.
  • Replace the RAM IC: In extreme cases, the LPDDR memory chip itself is dead and requires replacement.

Introduction

If using an Auth Bypass tool, ensure it is running and select the specific COM port it provides.
